Things to do as a family in Tenerife

Visit the Teide National Park

The Teide National Park is one of the most important attractions in Tenerife, which has been declared a World Heritage site by UNESCO. This park offers many activities for children and adults alike, such as hiking trails, horseback riding, or even golfing on one of its many golf courses.

Visit Santa Cruz de Tenerife

The island’s capital offers many things to do as a family because there are museums that both adults and children can visit, such as the Museum of Contemporary Art (MAC) or the Museum of Natural Sciences. There are also parks where you can go out with your children and relax while enjoying nature at its best!

Visit La Laguna de Los Barros

La Laguna de Los Barros is a beautiful place to visit in Tenerife. It is located near Santa Cruz de Tenerife, the island’s main city. It has beautiful landscapes that make it ideal for spending time outdoors with your family. Mountains surround the lake, so it feels like you’re in a little piece of paradise when you visit.

The Tenerife Zoo is a great place to visit if you want to see some of the island’s most exotic animals up close. Go on an adventure at Tenerife Parque Aquatico.

Tenerife is home to the biggest waterpark in Spain, and with good reason: it’s huge! The park has a whopping 42 attractions, including 21 slides, six pools, hot tubs, and a lazy river that’s 1.2 kilometres long. There are also restaurants, bars, shops, and games available throughout the park. That’s enough to keep you busy for a full day.

The park also has something for everyone: if you want something more relaxing, there are loungers around the pools and hot tubs where you can sit back and enjoy the sun as it beats down on your shoulder. If you’re looking for adventure—or maybe just want to cool off after an exciting ride—there are plenty of ways to get your heart pumping. There’s even an artificial wave pool where you can practice surfing!

Visit Restaurants

Have dinner at one of Tenerife’s best restaurants, such as El Lago Azul or La Cantera de San Miguel. These two restaurants have been around since the early 1900s, so they’re sure to have something for everyone in your family!

Ride the Cable Car

Ride the cable car to the top of Mount Teide and experience Tenerife’s stunning views.

The cable car leaves from the Port of Los Gigantes and takes you to the top of Mount Teide, which is the highest point in Spain at 3,718 meters (12,192 feet) above sea level. From there, you can hike to the summit or just enjoy a panoramic view from the top. The ride takes about 25 minutes.

Go to the Tenerife North and south beaches.

The best beaches for families are located on the north coast, where you can enjoy a relaxed atmosphere and participate in beach volleyball or snorkelling activities. On the south coast, you will find more activity-oriented beaches—you can rent kayaks and explore the ocean alone or with your family!

Spend a day at the Aquarium of Tenerife

It’s a great place to learn about marine life—hundreds of species live in the ocean around Tenerife! There are also some touch tanks so that you can interact with some of them! The aquarium is open year-round so you can go any time of year—it’s open 10 am-6 pm (except Mondays). It costs only 5 euros per person!

 Horseback riding is one of the most popular activities for visitors to Tenerife because it offers an opportunity for both parents and children alike to enjoy nature together while getting exercise at the same time!

Hiking is another great way for families to explore nature together while bonding over fun experiences like climbing hills or swimming through streams!

Get out on the water while watching the sun set over Tenerife’s mountains! This tour will take you around the coastline and past some of the island’s most famous landmarks—the view from this vantage point is breathtaking!

Visit La Laguna

The historic centre of La Laguna is a UNESCO World Heritage Site—and it’s a great place to go for a stroll with your family while learning about the history of Tenerife. You can visit its beautiful Cathedral or take in one of its many festivals or parades.

Santa Cruz de Tenerife has some pretty incredible museums and galleries that are perfect for kids who are interested in art and culture! You’ll find plenty of things to do here, too: from visiting La Isleta del Morro (a fortress located on an island) to going shopping at Centro Comercial El Corte Inglés (a shopping mall).

Visit the botanical gardens.

You can also visit the botanical gardens in La Orotava, which are home to more than 5,000 different plant species and an impressive collection of palms. The park also offers a beautiful view of the city.
